  1. IPS5.0.0+
Weather adds two simple and elegant ways to view the weather for specific locations: a global icon in the user bar and a widget for your community, making it easy for members to check current conditions at a glance.
Administrators can configure the default city, language, temperature unit (Celsius or Fahrenheit), and wind speed unit (km/h or mph) directly from the AdminCP, allowing the widget to match the preferences of your community.
Members can also personalize the experience by adding their own location directly in the widget. When they do, their chosen city will appear in a dedicated Weather tab on their profile, so other users can see the current weather in their area.
The widget displays the current temperature, weather conditions, and additional details such as feels-like temperature, humidity, and wind speed, presented in a clean layout that integrates naturally with the IPS interface.
To keep things efficient and avoid unnecessary API usage, the app uses a 1-hour cache for weather data, which helps ensure the free OpenWeather plan is more than enough for most communities.
    Key features:
    Configurable default city
    Configurable language
Configurable temperature unit (°C or °F)
Configurable wind speed unit (km/h or mph)
Members can set their own location directly from the widget
Member location is displayed in the Weather tab on the user profile
1-hour weather data cache to minimize API requests
Clean, responsive design that fits naturally into the IPS framework
A lightweight addition that brings a bit of real-world context to your community. 🌤️
  2. IPS5.0.0+
Blog Entry Reading Time displays an estimated reading time on each entry, so members can instantly see how long it may take to read the full entry from start to finish. The estimate is calculated using the entry’s entire content (including comments) and is shown directly on the entry page.
    Settings
This app includes flexible configuration options:
Cache Expiration Time – controls how long reading time values are cached.
Words Per Minute – adjust the reading speed used for the calculation.
Allowed Groups – choose which member groups can see the reading time.
    Smart Cache Invalidation
To keep the estimate accurate, the cache is automatically rebuilt whenever the entry is updated:
A new comment has been added
    A comment is deleted
A comment visibility state changes (hidden/unhidden)
This keeps reading time accurate at all times without slowing your community.
  3. IPS5.0.0+
This app restores a feature from IPS4 that was removed in IPS5: the centralized +Create menu. It automatically adds menu entries for all official IPS applications (except Courses), allowing users to create content across your community quickly.
    Moderators:
Moderators with the proper permissions can also create announcements and alerts directly from the menu, streamlining site management and community engagement.
    3rd-party developers:
Developers can use IPS5 extensions to add their own applications to the menu, making it fully customizable and future-ready.
  4. IPS5.0.0+

The app supports multiple languages, including English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Polish, Czech, Hungarian, Romanian, and Greek. Actually, it can use any language available on Google Translate. For better performance, translations are cached, so once a post is translated, it loads instantly on future views. The cache is automatically refreshed when the original content is edited.

For communities with existing users, an optional ACP conversion tool lets administrators safely enable Gravatar for eligible members with a single click.
The app is lightweight, non-intrusive, and fully compatible with Invision Community v5.
